Sharon Ward will present an introduction to how the combined work of radar operators and Special Duties Filter Room personnel gave RAF Fighter Command at Bentley Priory early warning of approaching enemy raids during the Battle of Britain.

Sharon has been a volunteer tour guide at Bentley Priory Museum since it opened in 2014. She has studied archived original sources researching the technologies and inner workings of Britain’s air defence systems of WW1, the interwar years, and WW2; with a particular focus on the Battle of Britain. She is also a local historian and has contributed to several of the Harrow Heritage Plaques around the area.
