VHF Meteor Scatter Operation - Martyn G0GMB
Club Shack Sun 1 Sep 15:00 - 17:00
We are very pleased to welcome Martyn G0GMB, the RSGB National Radio Centre Coordinator, to talk about VHF meteor scatter (MS) operation. This presentation gives an introduction to making meteor scatter radio contacts, typically done on the 6m, 4m and 2m VHF bands, enabling much longer distance QSOs to be made compared to conventional Tropo contacts, using modern day software protocols such as FSK441 and MSK144.
MS operations are by nature quite technical and demanding in terms of understanding, equipment and operational skill – but be warned, once smitten, it is addictive. The talk lasts about 1.5hrs with practical demonstrations embedded in the presentation slides.
